iTunes- on the PC |
|
|
Apple just released the MP3 player app itunes for the PC. Probably at http://www.apple.com/itunes
This app basically does the same as winamp but probably looks nicer and can also use the iTunes Music Shop.
So.. I wonder.. any of you guys been testng this thing on the PC already? What do you think of it??
BTW: Apple has a linkmaker for music on the iTunes Music shop site at : http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/itmsLinkMaker |

Yup.. seen it.. they are selling that litle gnome here too. but some countries do have restrictions.. I know.. maybe they are selling them in the UK anyway.. in brown paper bags.. in dark alleys at night. "You want to trip? I have a supply of itrips.. etc etc. " Hmm.. I wonder if they will ever make a Timothy Leary version in bright psychedelic colours of the iTrip??? |

Neat gizzmo, for sure. We used to call this kind of thing parasitic engineering. There is not an implication that parasites are a bad thing. Maybe these could be used to make micro-watt pirate radio stations. I could flood my neighbors with electro-music. |

I got it the day it was released (primarily because I have recently found myself in the transitionary limbo between being a PC user and a Mac user) and use it exclusively now. I have some very minor issues with its organizational methodology, and lack of visualization options, but those superficial issues, and I use it exclusively now. Seems fairly low-overhead, and it's far better with playlists and large directories of music than the alternatives. Currently I have it looping my Hearts of Space transmission collection. I like it.

You have both a mac and a PC? Excellent! The iTunes app has pretty much the same functionality on both platforms? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Weeelll, not exactly...
I've been a hardcore PC biggot my entire life, the result of my father working for IBM since before I was born. Then Jobs returned to Apple, and along came things like the iPod, the Powerbook, OSX, and then Panther and the G5 broke by camel's back in 3 places, one being a compound spiral fracture. Cant afford one though.
SO, I am a Mac guy in principle if not yet in practice.

The exact moment was durring Jobs' keynote for the WWDC, where he introduced Panther. When he showed off Expose... Mmmm. No turning back.

Reminds me about a story a friend told me about him and a lawn of magic shrooms. Basically the same thing. Hmm... _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

The topic of mushrooms seems to crop up a good bit around here.
Not a complaint, just an observation. I guess that is appropriate for an Apple discussion, right?

Very profound. Did you notice that if you listen/watch for more than 3 hours the video changes? |
