Im looking for a looper, something that works in real time for loop capture much like a sampler...but I want it to be a multi track too so that I can loop, mix, slice all on the fly.

For years I thought that a SP808 would kinda do this, when I saw that it only records one track at a time I felt a bit let down.

Is their a multi input sampler?

What about a hard disk recorder that can act like a sampler with looping etc?

I need something that can sync to midi at least, being able to control the tracks like samples via midi would be amazing.

You might want to look at some of the iPad apps that are available. This is cool http://www.analogindustries.com/blog/entry.php?blogid=1322259858415 but probably not exactly what you wanted. Might give you some ideas 'though.

Mobius might work for you. It's a very capable multi-track looper, and I believe it can record and output on different audio channels and sync to MIDI. You can also load prerecorded loops and trigger them. Includes a full compliment of functions: reverse, speed changes, etc. AND also has a very comprehensive scripting ability. The developer is very responsive to problems.. Shortcomings? It doesn't have the best gui interface and it does require a PC or Mac...

Oh, forgot to mention... its FREE Very Happy
