Hi

i'm working also on hooking up an electra condensor mic (small capsule) connected to the 4049 as a preamp and amplifying it with a LM 386. I've soldered the circuit, but I can't get any sounds coming for the mic. i'm building this with Nic Collins Handheld music book in front of me.

All the grounds are connected together, i.e they are connected directly to the black cable of the 9v battery and i'm just sending 1 cable from the electra condensor circuit (2.2kohm and 0.1uF to output) to the 4093 input and the output of the 4093 (also 1 cable) to the LM386. Try with a piezo directly to 4093 works fine, only that the level at LM386 is quite distorted (don't know why and where i've gone wrong!) Basically I'm just sending the outputs to the inputs of other chips and finally output w/ speaker.

I would also like to connect a delay pedal between the output of 4093 and input of LM386. (I've not done it yet, cause I don't have the parts with me now). What do you think of this setup? will it work?

any advice?

best
