Subject description: Use a dual pot to fade between 'stereo matrix' modes?

Can someone with more expertise than me comment or make a suggestion on this modification I'm thinking of?

Looking at this connection schematic for the Vibrato/Phaser mode switch, I'm wondering if it would be possible to use a dual pot instead of a dual switch, so that the mode can be variably changed between vibrato and phasing (open and closed)? I saw this feature on a different phaser and thought it could be implemented here for good effect.

If so, what would be a good pot value to try?

Here's a link to the schematic , the mode switch section in the lower right, labeled "Stereo Matrix". Here's a schematic for just the switch connection:

You could probably use a dual pot wired as two voltage dividers, one for the output of U1A going into U4A and one for the output of U3A going into U4B.

Try a 100k dual pot? you could probably loose the 330R resistors but keep the 100k resistors (R34 and R39) going into the inverting inputs of U4A and U4B.

It should give you a mix between vibrato on one end and phasing at the other, with the main and aux outs different in interesting ways still.

I think that would work anyways (but i might be wrong), try it out! I could probably do a quick pen and paper sketch is that is not clear.

I just finished up a tau myself, it's a super cool phaser, but i'm finding the "vibrato" setting of the switch to be not as cool as i hoped, maybe i just need to spend some more time with it though.

regards,

jordan
