LFO clock in

Hi guys.

as i understand the pin 5 of the 555 chip is CV in?

my question is if i'll connect an external clock would it work?
lets say a sequencer clock or maybe silent way vst plug in?
if yes do you think i would need some components (resistors, caps etc..) for that?
