I am working for a couple of weeks on a theremin which is based around an MCU and generates the audio by digital means. I would like to add some kind of tone control or filter. Can anyone suggest anything? Somehow I got completely lost here! Smile

Are you thinking of implementing a digital filter in the MCU, or an analogue one after the DAC?

Well, without anything more specific, you may as well start by looking at these two : simplified moog type filter and Most simple VCF on earth. Those are fairly simple with low a component count, and may be good for starting out. Our DIY section contains lots of project for filters - you may want to look around and/or search some here.

Maybe other members will post some good 'first-timer' filters here?

Just thought I'd add: if you're interested in a tone control as well / instead, a google search for "Baxendall tone control" should give you many variants to pick from.
