Wave World at the Soundscapes Concert Series |
|
|
Calendar Event: April 22, 2012
CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Sunday, April 22, the Soundscapes Concert Series returns to the Nazareth Center for the Arts with Wave World from the Netherlands.
Wave World is a Dutch multimedia project attracting attention for its fascinating music and enchanting shows. During live performances, their impressive music is blended with computer-generated graphics of a virtual world, projected on a huge screen.
Wave World's extraordinary music style can best be described as modern space music with dance influences. The enthralling shows carry the audience away to an alien world, that might exist in another time and another dimension.
Doors open at 7:30 pm and the concert is at 8:00 pm. The concert is free. Donations are requested to support the musician and to enable the Nazareth Center for the Arts to pay operating expenses. The NCA is located at 30 Belvidere Street, Nazareth, PA 18064 just off of Route 191 on the southwest corner of Belvidere Street and South Spruce Street. Check the NCA site for parking information.
The Soundscapes Concert Series is the concert companion to the Galactic Travels radio program on WDIY-FM and to Thought Radio on WMUH-FM and presents electronic music to the Lehigh Valley. This is the concert series that presented Dean DeBenedictis & Vic Hennegan (California), Bernhard Wosteinrich (Germany), Robert Rich (California), vidnaObmana (Belgium), The Ministry of Inside Things (Philadelphia), Richard Lainhart (New York), Orbital Decay (Quakertown), Mark Jenkins (UK), Mikronesia (Philadelphia), The Tangent Project (Philadelphia), Technicolor Travel Agency (Poconos), and Twyndyllyngs (Lehigh Valley) to local audiences.

We had a very good turn out, as far as the Soundscapes Concert Series goes. We still had only 16 guests but they were very generous which is just what the doctor ordered. The Nazareth Center for the Arts needs us to support them financially in order to keep this concert series alive. For us, it was a big turn out, although not our best. Financially, however, it was our best to date. And people bought WW merch which is very important. A big thank you to all who attended despite the nasty rain. I saw some new faces which is always a good sign that the word will spread about Soundscapes.
Artistically, this was one for the record books. The music was outstanding. Wave World have a wider range than most and do it all exceedingly well. Rolf's videos is the icing on the cake, turning the concert into a multimedia extravaganza. I don't know anyone who does a better job. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

It was indeed a good show! Plus I ran into some old friends I hadn't seen in quite a while! _________________ Dave
