Ensoniq EPS Subject description: ? about OEX-8 |
|
|
hello there,
i just picked up an old ensoniq EPS sampler.
i'm wondering if anyone here has one and has the OEX-8 output expander for it. if so has anyone ever opened the OEX-8 up to see what was inside? any electronics or is it just a box with 8 1/4" jacks that all share the same ground?
i'm looking to perhaps build one for my eps. i notice that it comes from a DB9 connector so i'm wondering if one of those pins is ground and the other 8 are the solo outputs.
i have not yet tried to meter that connector yet, thought i would ask here and see if anyone had any info
thanks for any help i can get

CHeck with Sam Mims from Syntaur Systems, and/or Garth Hjelte from Rubber Chicken. They both support(ed) Ensoniq samplers are one time. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

pretty sure its not just a breakout box as simple as that - at least i know the output expander for the ASR-10 is somesort of multiplexed digital signal that the box translates and outputs.. in the manual it clearly says that it is /not/ just jacks wired to a funky DIN plug
not sure it applies to the EPS, but they are kinda similar |
