Nope....

Though I understand that if you use a different type of microcontroller, the latency issues can be overcome.... But you'd be working all that out for yourself (or at the very least, starting a project of your own somewhere under DIY rather than here).

Ahh. I'll just have to keep my eye out for some other projects. I don't really have any understand of microcontrollers in a way where I could work it out on my own.

At lot has happened between then and now, two things in particular. First, a couple years ago I chucked Picaxe altogether and now work strictly with the PIC. And then I got waylaid with all sorts of other projects--you wouldn't believe my to-do pile that I'm slowly working through, even though in my dotage I now can devote twelve hours a day to electronics.

Anyway, I do expect to get back to this project one day. It actually would be pretty straightforward to port the Picaxe code over to compiled Great Cow Basic.

The one thing, though, I still think the internal EG stinks, so will probably go with a better external one.

Oh, I wish! Unfortunately, I only have a limited amount of time that I can work on my projects and I have very little (almost none) knowledge of programming in general. I'm mostly working with 555 circuits these days as far as design goes. I'll just keep these Ay3 chips in my drawer for now. Hell, I still have an SN-voice to build! I have one of the original run PCBs that I need to get working! So many projects...not enough time. Smile
