Hi

I have two dead voices (channels 4 & 5) on my Roland Juno 60 and have tracked them down to the VCA's and BA662 IC's with the help of the Roland Service Manual

Have checked IC & Tranny voltages without signals and found two suspect BA662's (see voltages below), and would like some feedback on 'where to next' in terms of getting the voices back.

IC19 - BA662 (channel 5)
1 0v
2 0v
3 0v
4 0v
5 -15v
6 -0.03v
7 -0.03v
8 -0.01v
9 14.9v

IC22 BA662 (channel 4)
1 -14.5v
2 0v
3 0v
4 0v
5 -15v
6 0.2v
7 0.2v
8 8.67v
9 14.9v

Voltage on Pin 1 of IC 19 is not compatible with the other working voices

Pins 7 & 8 on IC22 are also not compatible with the working voices. Am also getting radio frequency on pins 8,7 & 1 on IC22

Overall power supply voltages for the Juno check out ok

Are these BA662's gone? and if so, any ideas for replacement parts?

Any help much appreciated, Cheers

Andrew

BA662 are available on Ebay I believe, though you'll pay a pretty penny. However, there is nothing BA662-based that cannot be built using CA3080 as a replacement, I have built many BA662 based VCA and VCF using CA3080. It's not a drop-in, as BA662 are SIL and CA3080 are DIL, but providing you observe the correct pinout.....There were two versions of the BA662, the Juno VCA uses BA662A.
