Fundraise and invest money into reverse engineering hardware/firmware in some third party asian country or south america. This will do the trick if you're so into this red beast.

Or -- which is much simpler than reversing -- make an open source project of digital modular synth. Professionals in hardware or software developing can be hired of participate for free. Discuss online and design UI. Than order the production (I dont think Encore makes his expansions on a knee). This is a venture worth investing.

And finally stop blaming Clavia, they've done enough for a business.

I'd rather invest on the design of a new digital / analog hybrid modular synthesizer rather than on the reprogramming of a proprietary hardware. Specially if the last can't be bought or even repaired today.

well, a lot of 'sobering' replies to this topic. Neutral

this does certainly look like it has a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding, as the saying goes. the only thing i can offer is that times change, attitudes change, situations change, and also employees change. perhaps Clavia would be more receptive to something like this now as opposed to previously. wouldn't hurt to ask.

and as someone stated earlier, a Kickstarter campaign to fund G2 development does not necessarily need to be targeted at Clavia. As the Encore expansion boards demonstrated, there are 3rd party options for supporting the hardware.

ps - Tim: sent you a PM.

The only synth project I found on Kickstarter is NTH Music Synthesizer. Probably one should investigate the way they moved.
