Anybody here planning on attending? I will be there Saturday July 28 after about 11AM if anyone is interested in meeting up with me. I'm not exhibiting anything, just attending.

Well sorry no one from here was able to meet up with me. From a electronic music DIY perspective, it was a little underwhelming. There were really only 2 tables. One guy with some mostly analog stuff (WSG-type stuff) and a small group of early 20-somethings doing chip music which was mostly done on a laptop. To quote my daughter, " Dad, you've got like 10X this amount of stuff in your music room," and my set-up is probably average from the pictures you guys have posted.

OTOH, I found the overall festival well worth it from a creative standpoint. My wife and daughter (22) enjoyed it just as much as I did. I'm really intrigued with the 3-D printer stuff and with the price under US$2K, it's getting to the point where it's feasible to consider. Probably my favorite fun thing there was the "life-size" Mouse trap game. I was also impressed with the amount of stuff for kids to do, so if you have young kids, (and can afford the ticket price), I would recommend you bring them along.

I definitely plan to attend next year. If they do it in Chicago instead of Detroit, that would work too. It's about 3 hours either way for me.
