Thanks all.

Brock: technically the meters are not backlit... it was easier in this case to put 3mm LEDs in the bottom section, pointing up toward the faceplate.

Yeah, the infinity mirror... I saw a vintage one at a friend's place a couple years ago and have been wanting to build one. Of course it's always fun if the LEDs blink or do patterns, and naturally I thought it would be cool if it did that according to sound. Finally, it doesn't really do that... I just moved the usual indicator LEDs into the mirror box. The mirror tint film is pretty tricky to put on... there are plenty of tiny air bubbles but I just couldn't do any better after a dozen attempts. If you can find one-way mirror instead....

Ah yes, Tempest! I never got very far in that game back in the 80s, and it was only in one arcade. I was better at Gyruss, which kindof similar, circling around a vortex... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suRXuW1hryw

James.

Ty greatly James (RingMad) if you're still around - for posting that original schematic of the PWO! I haven't seen it for a LONG time. I DO have a later schematic of it, with the 2 x CD40106 modulation oscillators attached, that I found the other day.

My new 'Deathlehem Drain Oscillator', will be (if successful) based around the 4011/4093 with 2 x 40106 modulators, per voice. Hopefully, the same idea as the 4023 based PWO. Hope to begin breadboarding it later today.

Richarius Ryk: Yeah, I'm still around and building stuff. The "Pulse Witch 23" box I made based on your PWO is still one of the main sound boxes I use in live performances.

Looking forward to hearing the Deathlehem Drain Oscillator!

Excellent to read! Having watched the video again, I love everything that you did around it. A huge amount of sonic variety on top of what the simple little circuit could do, in the first place. And the optical effect with the mirrors, looks great. Very Happy

Off to breadboard the new idea soon. If it works out as well as I'm hoping, I may post some of the results to here.
