Hi folks,

I had a problem with my Novation Xstation sound cutting out in the middle of a set... the other instruments were Ableton, laptop, SLMKii MIDI controller and Tascam soundcard.

I thought the problem had to do with the Xstation, so went thru this huge troubleshooting drama & finally replaced it with an Ultranova. I love the Ultranova, but guess what...the SAME THING is happening!!!!!!!!!!! First of all... if I am playing the Ultranova by itself and turn on a computer or Ableton... the sound cuts out. Then often when the instruments rest for a few minutes while I check email (on a different computer) and come back... if I am playing my ableton clips, I can't get sound out of the Ultranova!!!

Strangely, I can play it with a MIDI channel... just not an audio channel. WTF?

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible the bug is in Ableton itesel? Does anyone else here play an audio instrument along with MIDI in ableton?

OK... strangely enough, I discovered one possible solution... the Ultranova Patch Editor is accessed thru a MIDI channel...and whenever it is open, it automatically turns local control OFF. You have to delete it or you will not be able to turn the local control knob ON.

Which means that when you are in an Ableton session, you can either play the Ultranova or Edit the sounds... but not BOTH.

Confused

YOu know sometimes I wish I could just go back to simple guitars... Shocked
