Another completed SoundLab! (pics included) Subject description: Finally furnished my minisynth!! |
|
|
I started building my minisynth in December 2010(I believe). I populated the PCB, and... well wait one second.
Ray in the kit you sent me you left out ONE cap! a single ceramic cap of a common value which I had, but still. that's a single issue with it.
So I got busy around that time so let's say around 9 months later I cut a crude faceplate from a new aluminum cookie sheet, drill it out, and wire the whole thing based on Ray's schems and faceplate layouts (so easy)
I measured and cut out the box but never assembled it. It was left housed in an old shoebox.
until last weeekend where I did it all in a 36 hour time period !!
Note: as of late, the noise generator has become plagued with immense oscillator 2 bleedthrough and noise that doesn't sound anything like noise!
TL; DR I took two years to do a two week or less project because lazy. am satisfied !

I had a lot of trouble with bleed into the noise; I used the "optional improvements" noise circuit and it went away.
My build's not done yet though
Edit: PS your images are not publicly accessiable |

help |

well apart from the noise gen, I found a little quirk..
When I tap the solder joint for a resistor on the right-top side of the pcb with my finger, it triggers a gate.
What does this mean? my finger is not shorting out any of the other connections..

It probably means that you found a high impedance point there that you are injecting some hum into. _________________ Jan

would the answer to that be "Stop touching your PCB while the synth is turned on"?
I guess that could make.. sense.. |

It means you have "trigger finger"
a common ailment amongst synth enthusiasts.
and what blue said. _________________ _Richard_ |

Trigger finger! XD that's rather punny...
but I like it, guess I'll keep touching my synth in out of reach places |
