Not sure what you mean ... opened the patch here and the rnd and clr buttons on CtrlSeq1 work just fine here, even when I have no connection between editor and synth.
I'm not aware of any setting that could be wrong to prevent this from working ...
And when I opened the patch first time here the sequencer had some pattern - not a straight line ...
This was on a PC of course _________________ Jan

Hi, thanks for trying - I don't have a PC at hand so I cannot try.
I'm wondering is it's a bug on the editor - hopefully someone with a mac will try it |

I have a Mac, but dont have the NM Classic software installed on it ... and it seemed a bit messy to do so ... if not I could give it a try, although I don't have it set up for MIDI. _________________ Jan

I use rosetta to run the Clavia editor on Snow Leopard - very easy to set up with the midisport
I've opened the patch with nomad and in Nomad there is no rnd buton at all ! |

Hmm, that seems odd to me. The random and clear functions should occur in the DSP code on the hardware, not in the Editor. I don't have a G1 setup (or even a Mac) to test that, but I can verify that the PC G2 Editor does *not* randomize or clear the sequencer without the synth connected. _________________ varice |

, it does here tho, how weird
Anyway .. fatcode, does the "Synth" menu work for you on the Mac?
that one will work here only when the NM is connected. _________________ Jan

I see that you found an old post about this:
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-20027.html
So, it looks like it is a bug with the beta G1 Editor.
I’m curious though. The PC G1 Editor can do these functions without the synth connected (while the G2 Editor cannot). But, can you assign the rnd and clr buttons to front panel knobs and trigger these functions without the G1 Editor connected to the synth? _________________ varice |

I connected the modular via PC on Virtual box - seems to be working ok there (it might be a way to use the G1 under Lion )
Well, it must be a bug in the OS X editor
I'll try to find out if I can get the rnd seq working with a knob |
