Hello everybody.Experts and not so! Please do not ignore my little problem.
Recently toeing with Roland 909 i had found that difference between not affected by accent and affected sounds like ;kik-snare-h.h.<is to big, which seams to drastic to my view.My thoughts was to bring up some gain at particular voice ;VCA. but i was lost to determine that area on schematic. So i hope somebody can help me.

The accent on the TR-909 (per the manual, I have never played with one) has two components. 1) "Total Accent" which is a level set for all voices and 2) Voice Accent for Bass, Snare, Toms, and closed HH. Voice Accent is either on or off and does not let you set the level. Total Accent does, however. And it says that the two accents are additive.

Looking at the service schematic, it appears that the accents are set digitally, and the addition happens at the processor side, not in an analog fashion. So the only approach that seems obvious would be to attenuate each individual accent line going into the individual voices...that doesn't sound like a very easy or fun mod.

Have you tried setting the adjusting the Total Accent level, particularly setting it as low as possible to see if that has any impact?

You'd want to measure what the accent levels are like when you adjust that level as well, perhaps there's something causing a high bit on the latches to get stuck? It should range from 0 to 5V.

Have I misunderstood your problem? Smile
