Just wandering if anyone can tell me how the AR Envelope Generator and the LFO Rate control will behave if I use A1M instead of B1M. I'm thinking it would be fine, but wandering if anyone has any thoughts..

Hi jgoulds.

Since the three pots are wired up as variable resistors and not true potentiometers (i.e. effectively only two of the three connectors are being used) the only effect will be one of controllability. The linear taper pots (B1M) will give a smooth transition from slow to fast (LFO) or of short to long times (AR EG). With log taper pots (A1M), if I've got my head the right way round, the LFO frequency will change slowly at first and then speed up quickly towards the end of the turn. With the AR EG pots, the length of time for the attack/release will be stay short at first and then will rapidly get longer towards the end of the turn.

So, the answer is, the pots will work, but not as well as the linear taper ones!

Hope that helps,

Gary

EDIT

Sorry, I spotted a mistake in my reply Embarassed I've now amended it (I put B1M in for both linear and log pots). Hope that it didn't confuse you too much.
