hi all,
looking to add a little functionality to my modular with this simple utility. trying to send a single pulse to be used as a gate signal by pushing a momentary button.
i'm in the early stages of planning this and don't have much experience designing circuits - always glad to hear things to look out for, possible improvements, etc.
this ray wilson graphic shows that the one-shot circuit in the top right might prove useful, swapping the resistor for a 20K and adding a 100K pot to control pulse width.
a+5v signal looks reasonable. does this idea sound plausible?

Yes, that sounds reasonable to me.

By using 4000 series CMOS logic you can use an operating voltage of 3-15V which may be useful for powering from, and interfacing to, an existing analogue system (e.g. HEF40106B)
