Clavia's web site has been redesigned and they are working on a new instrument as well.

See http://www.clavia.se/

Wonder what it could be, ah well Frankfurt is near both in space and in time.

Jan.

Look at those legs! (no pun intended Laughing Wink)

...they remind me of something like a fender rhodes or a wurlitzer electric piano has. Maybe this is just for the looks, but maybe it really belongs to the instrument. So, possibly, a new nord electro?

I'd rather have a new NordLead synth, but that's just me.

I heard some fellow in the music shop say it will be an electro combined with a nord lead 2X. I wonder if he is right....

The Electro is great and it has some room for further improvement.

Word from the yahoo groups g2 list:

"88 key. full weighted action, Rhodes style case, with built in legs... Havnt heard it, It was simply talked about at the NAMM show in Jan..."
"It is in fact a Clavia-Rhodes style piano, 88 key piano action with Grand samples as well as extensive EP libraries! At least thats my understanding after talking to Clavia."

Both quotes from a guy who claims to be a Clavia dealer.

Well, the legs on the clavia teaser pic are definitely more rhodes-like than wurly-like, so that would fit with the Namm rumours. But I certainly don't hope the weight will be anything near the original (a month or two ago I nearly broke my back trying to get such a monster to my attic home studio). It was exactely the Rhodes case that added the most to the total weight.

heh. that was discussed on another forum i visit, too -- there was some argument over whether the graphic designer was using some cyrillic characters to make it 'look cool' or if it refers to something else like a second synth. someone suggested they'd heard that Clavia were going to come out with something to compete with the Alesis Ion. When I suggested, along these lines, that it could be a Lead 3X, that idea was quickly shot down...

who knows!? the messe's not far off, now...

edit: ok, ENGLISH* Razz and i meant 90 degree angle and mirrored.

Combining this idea with the stuff posted about it being a Rhodes clone, I'm putting my money on an Electro 3 / 3X...

It could also be a Magicians bench for performing the "divided lady" sawing trick. With drapes and all.
Clavia recognizes the need for better stage shows / visuals as an integrated part of the music. From the ad: "We all know what great music Sounds like. Clavia even knows what it Looks like! "

Hm..?
