Greetings everyone.

I am using SndBuf to playback samples and would like to be able to read the samples in without having them playback immediately.
I have been unsuccessful in implementing this. This is problematic because the loading of the sample causes a noticeable stutter in the audio of other shreds while the sample loads.

It seems like it should be simple to load in all of the samples I want and be able to play them back on command without having this stutter/lag.

Does this make sense?

Any thoughts on solutions?

Thanks for your time.

what's up cheesymoo

to keep samples from playing upon loading, i have my sndbuf connected to an ADSR envelope. then, i tell the envelope keyOff.

Code:
SndBuf b;
ADSR e;

b => e => dac;

e.keyOff();

"provolone.wav" => b.read;

1::second => now;

e.keyOn() will trigger the sound.

i'm not sure what you mean about the stutter though -- let me know if the above helps with that too.
