HI All, I hope this is the right forum to ask this. I often find myself needing something that will convert an AC lfo(one that goes from -5v to +5v) to a DC signal(0-5 or 10 volt range). I made a level shifter awhile back to boost a trigger signal for my simple sequencer but that seems to change whatever is coming in to a square wave out. I'd like something that would keep the shape of the original signal but just make it DC.

2nd question: I built the CGS pulse divider and it has an inverter on it but it's a pulse inverter, it won't invert say an LFO. I'm looking for something that will create like a mirror image of whatever type of signal comes into it. I don't know, is there such a thing?

thanks for any help,
steve

Hi.
Try the CGS43 - check the notes towards the end of the article. It's not just a cascade mixer, but can be used for what you're after too. You get 7 sections - each of which can be a level-shifter, inverter or mixer depending on how you wire it.
Makes the basis for a rather nice utility module. Lots of possibilities there... Smile

CGS43

cheers,
Dave

thanks Dave. It's funny I've sort of browsed that circuit before
and wondered if it was worth building, then skipped past it.
I'll check it out more carefully. thanks,
steve

A guy named negativespace over on muffwiggler has a board that does all this - called the CVP. http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/topic-34483.html I built 2 of them behind a 1U MOTM panel -
