Can the G2 emulate the Nord Lead 1?

I have never touched a lead one but from what I understand it does some morphing type of thing that creates insane sounds.

The lead one isnt the best deal for the price so I was curious if the G2 would be a better investment.

What other synths could it emulate? How moog can it sound?

How DSI can it sound?

thanks Very Happy

That has been asked before. Check this out:

Being a very flexible modular system with lots sound sculpting possibilities, the G2 can easily emulate many other hardwired synths.

IMHO, the most prominent characteristic of the sound of the various Moog synths are the unique and absolutely beautiful sound of the famous 24db transistor ladder low pass filter. The G2 has a “Classic Filter” module that is a virtual digital emulation. It comes very close to sounding like the Moog analog version. But IMHO, it falls a little short though, especially when pressed to extreme high resonance settings. More about that and my workaround here:

I have a Prophet 5 rev. 3.3, and I have been easily able to emulate it with the G2 for the most part. One problem with the G2 is that it doesn’t have any oscillator modules with multiwaveform outputs like the CEM VCO chips used in many analog synths like the Prophet 5. But because of the G2 modular patching flexibility, I have patched the G2 to emulate this multiwaveform VCO output. Check this out:

I would have to say that the G2 is a far better investment because it is a very flexible modular system without any of the limitations of a hardwired synth.

Emulation capability is the wrong reason to buy a G2.

If you want the most faithful sonic reproductions of classic analog circuits (like Moog ladder filters, CEM oscillators etc.) that money can buy at this time -save up and buy the John Bowen Solaris.
