What do you think about Propellerhead Figure. Have you made any good music with it -- that you might actually USE for something? Im considering getting it but I dont want it if its just a toy.

I got it when it was free. Fun to mess with on my ancient iPhone 3GS, but no I can't say I've made serious music on it yet.

I've heard it's deeper than it looks on the surface. I'll dig into these tutorials at some point:

Mostly likely, I'll just end up sampling whatever tracks I make on it into Octatrack for further mangling/remixing.

Ok thanks. Thats what i was thinking how are you sampling it into your other program? Is that an app via inter app audio or on a desktop?

The Octatrack is a hardware sampling device.

I don't do inter-app stuff on my iPhone 3GS - too old/slow to handle Audiobus. On iPad I'd probably record up to 15 seconds of Figure audio into Yellofier and let Yellofier chop and remix. Or record Figure audio to audio file, then import the file into Turnado for remxing. Or perhaps chop it in Beatmaker 2 chop lab.

That's what I enjoy about IOS apps - all the options...

Figure is surprising fun to use and much deeper than I expected. Love the super intuitive interface. But it definitely leaves me wanting more.

You're limited to 1 sequence of 8 bars only. I wish Propellerheads would expand on it more and build a pattern/song mode for it.
