hello everyone ,

well im thinking of making a really easy module for a couple of manual gates ,
like here at doephers diy page, so what im thinking to do is replace the res.(470Ω) with a pot (10kΩ) ,makes scene ? and please can you make clear how to add sustain , with a cap maybe ?

thanks in advance

You might need to look into debouncing to get a cleaner start to the gate.

Also, I think rather than replacing the 470 resistor, you'd want to put a pot as an attenuator/voltage divider in between the resistor and the output, it'd be similar to the simple attenuator also on the Doepfer DIY page.

The capacitor would add a release stage rather than sustain. Are you wanting the gate to stay on for a set amount of time?

Ok, cool. Yeah for that kind of thing you need a diode, followed by a cap (something like 2uF) to ground parallel with a variable resistor (maybe a 4.7k resistor in series with a 1M pot) to ground.

I made a similar kind of module, posted the schematic in this other thread:

Maybe interesting to you (or maybe too complex).
