i just stumbled ofer this arcticle:
Instant Inkjet Circuits: Lab-based Inkjet Printing to Support Rapid Prototyping of UbiComp Devices

and i wonder if anybody here tried this already?

there are two major issues i could think of:
1) how to mount TH or SMT components when the circuit has been laminated,
and related to this
2) using conducting silver compound seems to be a PITA for smaller SMT parts (ICs), no?

so more than 70 people read this, but noone ever tried this? i think the nice thing is that you would not use the common ink, but a special ink containing silver (mitsubishi).

i think i will give this a try at some point.

With the silver spot price at 5 year lows and market sentiment at its most bearish, pcb producer Fonik at E-m and Muff's goes long the silver .

Piedwagtail signals a BUY in silver from SELL completely bypassing NEUTRAL.
Momentum traders are advised to buy now and sell into the buying frenzy to follow.

ROTFL

we will see. need to source the mitsubishi paint first. conducting silver compound should be no problem at all.
anyways, i wonder if this approach is versatile enough to be satisfying.

looking at it, it seems a nice solution for schools and suchlike, but currently doesn't offer any permanence. it is an exciting technology though, theres a couple of guys on kickstarter at the moment with a pen that does the same thing http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/electroninks/circuit-scribe-draw-circuits-instantly
