I've just built this wonderful filter and, after a good calibration, it's a joy to play it (I disconnected R43 BTW). What concern me is that it sounds so good even if I used dirty cheap ceramic 470pF capacitors in the filter cells, as they were the only of that value in my parts bin, and I didn't even bothered to match them. Now the question is : it's worth changing them with, say, WIMA or polystyrene 1% caps (and what I should expect in terms of quality) or should I follow the golden rule "if it's not broke don't fix it" ?

Probably you got a batch of capacitors that were already pretty matched.
If you are satisfied with the sound of your filter then don't try to improve it.
In French we say "Le mieux est l'ennemie du bien" which can be translated as "Better is the foe of Good"

As a matter of fact, all the caps were from the same batch. I have been lucky.

Thank you again, Yves, even for your words of wisdom. Wink
