I thought this was pretty bad assed.

Doesn't have a great demo of the string tracking but goes into detail about the architecture. Not sure if plans are available.

ya, just a solid state SID board triggered by piezos pretty much. so similar to drum triggering.
piezos are SO cool. Its one of those things, like LDS & LDRs & so forth-that cost PENNIES but have a million great uses

She mentions the string tracking is terrible but doesn't demonstrate why. Hrmmmm

I'm under the impression that bass string tracking is particularly hard.

I'm gonna have to buy me some piezos and start wiring shit up!

u wont b sorry. u can make mics, transducers, things like spring reverbs or drum pads/triggers, etc in addition to guitar pickups like u add to acoustics etc-theres a million DIY pickups from piezos pages. Pretty much just 2 wires, solder, a piezo, and the jack..basically.
seriously, thats pretty much it.

I've been browsing some piezo listings on ebay and noticed lots of different diameters.

Some of them were pre wired and some not wired. I'd probably go with unwired to save money.

Is it wise to buy piezos without the metal contact pad on the inner ceramic disc? Some have soldering points and some don't.

Thoughts? Concerns?
