Hey everyone. I was wondering a bit about this. I have seen one of two things that actually use your skin to complete a connection and just have exposed touch-points. I was wondering if anyone knows any more about how I can design/use some of these myself. I am especially interested in etching them onto a board myself.

hey,

if you want to replace a Switch you can use this circuit: http://www.daselektronikerforum.de/download/file.php?id=4991
the red dot is the touchplate.

a other way is make two tochplates (or etching them with a wired pattern near together) and conect one to ground and one to the input of a Cmos Gate or inverter with a Pullup resistor. (not a schmitt trigger type) when u toch both plates the input of the cmos is gowing low and you got somthing otrher at the output (depends on what you using, for example the output of a 4049 is going high)

if you just want some wired sound or somthing a good way is conect your touchplate to the cv in of a 4046 ... Wink
