Good evening,

I just finished my Saw Animator.

I followed the calibration procedure and grounded the mod. input. Input is a swa ranging from -5V to 5V. The general shape that I get from the output is not a saw. It looks like something from an AR-Generator with exp. rise and fall. By the shape adjustment it became a triangle.

Once I took away the grounding of the mod input I get disturbance by the LFO which is hearable. Even if there is no input I get the LFO signal at the output. looks close to a pulse.

I find this behavior on both animators.

Any idea out there? Thanks!

Hello,

recently I found some more info on the design of the saw animator. I had to realize that the popping sound of the modulation oscillator that you hear without an signal input is normal. OK, no problem at all.

Moreover I found my bug: My choice of the optional condensators C7 and C9 was totally wrong. I used film type condensators of WIMA. For now I took them out. The Animator works is just fine since then. I can not see spices on my PC-Scope, but I believe I can hear them. Maybe I will try some ceramic condensators for C7 und C9.

Take care.
