Imogen Heap uses a glove combined with ableton live during her live performances. The glove seems to be able to track a ton of movements. Check it out!

Shame it didn't make its target, it looked like fun.. I have a replica Famicom Power Glove kicking around that I want to modify into doing this sort of stuff. I lack the know-how to mod it though.
