A silly patch and some issues |
|
|
Had some fun with Wren, ran into some things that may be related.
1 When having connected to both stereo outputs in AudioOut, when I disconnect one of the outputs using ctrl-click the other goes silent. If I disconnect and then connect the remaining wire is comes back on (though now it made the program display an “Access Violation” error dialog).
2 I can’t get the EnvAR to produce sound (see patch EnvAR_issue1.wren) Possibly the same issue as above, with the EnvAHD module, if I connect and disconnect both outputs from the envelope to L and/or R, I can get an enveloped sound to appear and disappear without knowing why. (see EnvAHD_issue1.wren).
Also at some point it would be nice to have some kind of confirmation dialog when you close the program with unsaved changes. I know that this can be a pain to implement, it's just that I lost some things when I had a knee-jerk click on the close window button.

Read it .. will have a closer look tomorrow.
And for now:
it is best to have a stereo mixer before the output .. connect that to both outs and never touch it again ... there are some issues there indeed. Both inputs of the output module must be connected or otherwise there will be no audio. I'm not sure yet how to fix that once and for all .. another thing is that you can not have two output modules. The software uses some strange trickeries there .. it will change one day, but for myself I can live with it for a while longer ... always using the mixer there .. its nasty I know
there is some detection on patch changes already ... see the window title bar before and after a change ... it may not show knob moves as alterations .. not sure ... tomorrow
Anyway ... I could make a warning on program exit when it sees unsaved changes ... I'm going to make it an optional thing then, but could have it on by default. _________________ Jan

Works on knob chages too it seems :-)
It will be in the next release. The dialog can be disabled in the settings screen - which amounts to selecting 'No thanks' in the dialog.
This will have some interactions with a windows shutdown when there is a patch change ... didnt test how that works out, please report any failures there when they hit you. _________________ Jan

Cool. I tend to end up using a stereo mixer before the output anyway, I'll remember that. The dialog looks nice, glad that it wasn't too much of a hassle to implement it. _________________ Antimon's Window

I've looked at the patches, and indeed its the 'output must be connected' issue. _________________ Jan
