Autechre patch done with max/msp
Subject description: algorithmic sound protocols
|After quite a long discussion at FB we found this code interesting, arround 60 members decided this patch really uniq
the composition of Autechre is here
the patch is here thanks to Durren:
here are some members of the topik:
Darren McClure: ae-fun patch was the name.
Jestern Alberto Novello: i remember the guy who had that patch was recordrecordlabel.com or something (don't think it's still on because they had some issues with that patch, but the guys are still working, american anyway), they had emultaion for several things, like otto von schirarch and stuff.. the story was that the guy helping sean with max/msp shared the patch, then H20 spread it around. Form what i remembered was all FM with some random preset choices for each instrument and some chaotic navier strokes for the filter of the bass (which actually was the only synthesis suprising part). And the cool stuff was the clockng of everything.
шум сверчков: its Max msp
Nephogram Reception: it was never confirmed if the patch circulating was "the original", as far as I know it was a very accurate and good sounding emulation. I should have it somewhere in my old HDs
Andrew Noumen: Yes, Franz, absolutely right.. same here.. never found a confirmation about the direct originality of that patch.. yet I couldn't miss it ) Patch is really nice.. Think noone would have argued here.. I am not really sure if it is the guys from Fizzarum: Dmitry Dubov & Dmitry Letahovskiy.. there's a comunity I was connected to long time ago.. was not to active there doing my own isolated experimentation )
Ali Rustam: looks like simple fm synthesis with lowering samplig frequency towards the end.
Eu Ch No:, Fizzarum didn't wrote that patch. There was also a version of that patch from H2O (software hackers, if anyone remember) with comments clarifying the algorithm.
Btw, there are 2013 Fizzarum live record on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fizzarum
He mainly used Elektron devices for this, if I remember correctly.
Hope you enjoy the conversation,
