Modular W/ drum sounds Subject description: a tour of my first real lunetta build |
|
|
Hey everyone! i've been lurking around on here for quite some time and figured i would finally make my presence known! this is my first real build (i've breadboarded some noisemakers but never felt any need to box them up) and i'm very impressed with some of the sounds i've been able to squeeze out of it so far. as of now it has five modules
1-3x40106 clock/tone generators w/ coarse and fine
2-1 4040 divider
3- 2x 40106 vco with trig. and saw outs
4- baby 10 sequencer
5- drum module
the drum module is a paia drumtone board. you can buy them for $50 or so from the paia website, and with a little tweaking work really well. as things go id like to add more sequencing/melody generation modules into the right hand cabinet, and in the left side stick to tone generation (save for the few clock modules). i was thinking of adding a square wave vco and a couple of filters, as well as a mixer. the mixer (hopefully) will have spring reverb on all channels.
i realize it's not entirely lunetta, but a few op-amps ain't so bad!

Very cool! I love the idea of using that kind of board for a front-panel. Must be very easy to work with! Give us some samples! |

The tweaks i used were mostly straight off of the PAIA forum. i just added glide and pitch controls for the Synth Drum and left all the others as is. i kind of liked the raymond scott vibe i was able to get with the wood block/clave sounds. One big thing however was to add another board to convert from square wave to trigger signals. i did this by sending the input through a capacitor with a diode to ground at the other end. it gave me nice percussive taps instead of having the signal be on for the duration of the square wave |
