I did a kind of silly experiment trying to make a FIR filter with CMOS shift registers. It kind of works, but I don't think it is useful for musical applications.

I had a very similar idea not so long ago, but I didn't have the technical wizardry. Looking at your schematic I am pretty sure I never would have managed if I had tried Shocked

The schematic looks big, and the breadboard was packed, but the circuit actually isn't too difficult. There is just a lot to it.

One thing I forgot to mention is that although I used +/-12V, this should work just as well on 0 and 5V. You will just need to be careful not to clip at all the mixing points.
