My wannabe musician Experimental Beatbox and Electro Stuff Subject description: Looking for feedbacks! |
|
|
Hello guys (and girls?)
I have introduced myself in the apposite Forum: http://electro-music.com/forum/post-407218.html#407218
And I was told I could upload something here.
Let's see if it works.
So, I do not make music anymore, because I felt confused while trying to learn how to use hardware and software, and frustrated for not being able to realize what I had in mind.
I will not anymore aim to be a professional music producer. No time.
But well. I wonder what more experienced musician can think of my works in progress
Feedbacks welcome! Especially the constructively negative ones, where I can learn to see what my "I DID THIS!" pink glasses do not let me see
I upload at first the Ableton things, no beatbox.
I must find the beatbox stuff again in my hard drives..., or download them from my Soundcloud.

No idea which kind of music should that be. But if it sounds like something, tell me like what :) (hopefully not like s....) I like the evolution. |

I find this quite funny with the panned latin percussions. For some reasons it remembers me of the Argentinian Axel Krygier. Although no way near what he achieves. |

This one was my attempt to do some king of Goa. I failed. So I called it Boa, like a series B Goa. It is a bit minimal. |

Ok, beatbox things found.
Here we go.
All these tracks are made with just a Boomerang III looper pedal.
It has got a max of 4 loops.
So no much to play with.
I have prepared the loops, most tracks just with my voice (eventually effected with a digitech pedal), sometimes with a bit of synth too.
When the loops were ready I have recorded them, one track one take, no cut no edit, in Ableton. Just as archive purpose.
One track is only made with synth. But also only with the looper. No multitrack, no edit.

This is the very first thing I did. I had just received my Boomerang Looper, and I had just had a fight with my ex, so I made this dark and slightly aggressive beatbox. |

I really like this a lot. It is a bit melancholic :) And it has got this feeling of a march, of a bolero, or a progression with no real evolution. I also sing there. With surprisingly good result, if you consider that I cannot sing and generally when I do |

This is the only track which I have edited in Ableton. The edit consists in the part in the middle where the tempo changes. I could not do that with the looper. So I have recorded it one track one take, and then changed tempo in the middle part. |

Well, this is, very experimental. I was surprised when a friend of mine voted this up, as the only song he actually voted up. I worked with the inverse loop function, clearly. |

Finally, this is the only loop made of just Synth, no beatbox. I prepared 4 loops on Boomerang and played some synth in real time while starting/stopping loops while recording one track in one take in Ableton. No edit, no cut. |

Thanks, I, well, I admit that it feels good to read that.
I hope to find somebody with experience in Ableton here where I live, who can help me realizing my ideas.
Because that was the biggest challenge for me.
I am very creative and I can make a song in one day (if then I do not get too obsessive with details and I correct little things for one month, never being satisfied).
But I am not so practical, and I totally lack discipline and patience to learn programs and hardware (like the Elektron octatrack, I had bought it as a looper and I gave it back because too complicated. Later I have realized that with a little patience more, and acceptance of the intrinsic limits of everything, I could have made wonderful things with it...).
Actually the best thing would be to make things with somebody, because even if alone I have more time and space to create (I am a bit shy in front of people), with somebody is more fun. It felt a bit boring to make all alone.
I tried to edit the post above to add one theme but it does not work, so I add it here.
Yesterday I thought "nah, too childish", but today I was singing its melody the all day so I think I may post it
Description: |
Yes I know, it is childish and the end is kind of open. But the melody and the, ehm, "arrangement" are quite cool :) |

Yeah we have a max of five attachments / post.
Hope to be able to listen tomorrow - for me work is the best place often to catch up on tunes posted here :-) _________________ Jan
