hi synth diyers,

I'm all for diysynth. now I'm making sounding and lighting vhsboxes for 4 months. learning electronic by trial / error. before I was roaming this forum like a psycho. all by myself with your very very helpfull topics. I'm more attracted by lunettas galaxies but modular spaceships synth diy were my first target.

Breadboarded :

VCF-1 LM13700 Thomas Henry (without the expo converter for now, but with a 100k pot to -/+12v with a 22k to each OTA) and for futur testing transfomation to VCF from SH-101 adding two more OTAs.

todo Breadboard :
Wavolver I from Ian Fritz to evolve to Wavolder II, but I want to know if I could use the AND gates from 4081 ic and the FET from 4007? or if I could build an alternative circuit to this switch FET?

Perfboarded for testing :

VCF from the Music From Outerspace "'Weird Sound Generator" by fluxmonkey! I put 47uF decoupling Caps (but usually 10 uF) could they alter the sound resonance ?

ADSR Roland 100M rev2 - sliding pots and ics to solder

ADSR Yusynth already etched parts waiting.

welcome Sethkaine!

Very cool sound and light show! Could you post a picture of your build at light please? Using VHS boxes sounds like a cool idea and I would like to see your build in more detail.

Hello synaesthesia,

Nice name by the way. Razz very colorfull.
I will put pics soon of my VHS boxes modules. They're not definitive I have few modules to build before I evolve my system to bigger boxes.

I want to build front panels with copper panels like the copper-bakelite board I use when etching. But I'm not sure this perfboard are strong enough for repetitive pluging with my bananas?

I like your ideas for your semi-modular.

These are AWESOME, I have a bunch of DVD cases from when I worked at a now extinct video store that I planned on doing passive circuits similarly to how you build them. LOVE how similar they look to something like a modular synth and a book shelf had a love child.
