Help! New to electronic music! Looking for inspiration! |
|
|
Hi all! I'm a new comer here, looking for the knowledge of a bunch of like minded electronic music lovers!
I got a Bass Station II last year, and after playing with it for a while, especially the sequencer, I've been thinking about how great it would be to create music only using synthesizers - drums, bass, harmony, and melody.
So, to get to my point, I've been looking all over the Internet for bands, musicians, producers, genres, getc... That fit that bill, but it's been slow going. I've only found one guy on YouTube that does what I would like to do (OlliLaboratories).
If anyone knows of any music that fits that bill, please send them my way! Guitars and samples (played using hardware samplers) are fine with me. |

I don't know what kind of music you're looking for but you can find a lot of synthesizer based music here on the forum.
For some no nonsense synthesizer music with lot's of great sequencing you can check out Dave who posts here on
the forum under the name Skrog Productions.
For a bit more happy pop sound (but definitely not limited to) you can listen to Antimon.
For a bit more experimental music listen to Muied Lumens.
For very experimental and a truly unique sound check out Blue Hell, who uses mostly the G2 and his own virtual modular project: wren.
those are just some of my favourites, but there is a lot more of course. for easy access to music posted here check the media section
Oh and you could also listen to my music, afterall I do use DIY synths. most music is posted here on the forum
but the easiest way to find it is through my website. _________________ "My perf, it's full of holes!"

Thanks for the reply! I'll take a listen through these suggestions when I'm home through good speakers.
To be honest, I don't even know what I'm looking for at this point! Haha I'd just like to narrow it down to something that I would be doing. And what I would be doing is just in my head right now. |

What u have listened to so far has been enlightening. I'm liking some of the stuff Antimon has put up. I'm gonna continue to listen through all of it. I like the mixture of ambient and dance-like beats happening. I also really like the very experimental music.
This is very helpful! Thank you so much! |
