The band's name (like a number of others) is derived from the works of William S. Burroughs: Steely Dan is the name of a giant flying steam-powered dildo that appeared in Burroughs' book Naked Lunch. Fagen once explained, "We just wanted to give the band a little more thrust than most other bands."
No, Deknow was Razz. Yes I was. Have a few good old fashioned LPs from these guys, but was unaware of the origin of their bandname Embarassed

One interesting point in the last version from robs 24 delay line patch...

it dont matters in the actual state of this patch how much i reduce after the oscilator.
I added an crazy amount of amp modules but it dont makes a differnce anymore...

what is going on here?

Just to answer my own question in case others wonder..
the downscaling after the oscillator is a quantisation to 1 bit in the end.
This happens on full samplerate and is maybe usefull as an alternative to the digitizer module that creates more aliasing artefacts when doing a downsamplin to 1 bit...
Why would someone downsample to one bit? at least it imideatly creates squares out of any waveform...

And its pretty strange what robs delay leine makes out of 1 bit signals...

this reply is a masterpiece. I am tempted to use it as my own signature file. Unfortunately it will be appreciated only by those who saw your previous avatar. Anyway, just in case you wonder, my preference goes to the latter one Cool

Sure. I am convinced your feet will be kissed, incense will be burned and at least two goats will be sacrificed in your name. This is looking good.

Is something amazing how to pass from a battle between "24bit: what's the truth?" to something like "the history of lost AKS", "the flying dildo" and "the AKS revenge" in the same thread Very Happy

Indeed, I guess this is what happens when the boss is out on a trip. Peculiarly, Kassen did open my eyes by mentioning something about a telephone; this topic really went astray after the first contribution of 'the angelic one' on page 5 Twisted Evil

If you need to present kalaschnikows again you maybe can combine them with titts? Natascha and her kalaschnikows... Would maybe make them look a bit less deadly...

We can kill that "Your favourite burger" thread? Then take out the "Hoover underwear" subforum later? Shocked

Nah.. what we could do is get the thread back on track or simply move the drailments to the schmooze forum?
