Hi Subject description: need some inspiration |
|
|
Before this, I was a classical composer. Not one of those stuck-ups who spent years at a conservatory learning the right way to put notes on scores; I was more like one of those loser-types - completely self-taught with an un-musical upbringing. Because of that, I'm expected to live the typical 9-5 lifestyle, so I didn't have time to both compose and practice the piano. That meant I couldn't make a name for myself by performing or doing recordings if I wanted to compose.
Several rejections from performers and publishers later, I decided that it wasn't worth it if I could just express myself directly on my computer instead of relying on performers.
If you could suggest some electronic music that's harmony/melody-based instead of texture-based, that would be really helpful.

It doesn't matter, my music isn't really worth listening to. |

I love your music! Great stuff.
I'm mostly a synth music experimenter but I have long loved baroque and classical. I enjoy your fresh approach to traditional forms. _________________ AEJOTZ is pronounced "A-Jotz"

Fresh? but it's just classical music for synthesizers, then again, I can't think of anyone else who does that, or any other composer who's so sick of relying on performers that they force themselves to flee their beloved homeland (or home-genre). So maybe it is fresh, in its own weird way. |

The music streamed here on Radio 2/ MKII is melodic contributions from forum members. Go to the radio page:

For melodic synth music in general you have to time-travel to the 1970s: Tomita and Synergy are my personal favorites. _________________ AEJOTZ is pronounced "A-Jotz"
