Ah, yes it is now time for making little scanned versions of ourselves to celebrate the new millennium and 3D printing! These are called Lithophanes. Their hight is either proportional or inversely proportional to the brightness of the image. Here is mosc for example. (the 3D print needs to be done with finer liayer height, but that would have been a longer print time).
