I have been using Switchcraft mono sockets for most of my modules but they are very expensive. Even in bulk they are over £2 each.

On Rapid there are TruConnect stereo sockets that look similar, although the plastic case doesn't look rigid but they are only about 50p each.

I was wondering if I can use these cheaper, stereo sockets, and if anyone else is using them.

Furnishing a module with sockets that make up 25% of the cost of the module is rather defeating the point of DIY but I do want quality that lasts.

It's worth the money to buy it once rather than to replace the cheap jacks later.

I bought a couple to test and I am impressed.

TruConnect look and feel as sturdy as SwitchCraft, if not more so.

There is a double click with the stereo switches as you put the jack plug into the socket but I found that a pair of needle-nosed pliers can squash the first contact down to give the feel and function of a mono socket.

Now, I can buy four times the number of sockets for the price of mono SwitchCraft sockets.
