This may be a very basic question, but I've not been able to find a clear answer in the manual nor by fooling around...

How exactly does one control the level of ring modulated sound in the "structures" that use it (2, 4, 5, and 7)? I'm using a new D-05 but presumably the answer would be the same for an original D-50 or D-550.

What I'm finding is that if I set a tone to use a ring modulation structure, say structure 2, what comes out the output is a mixture of partial 1 and the ring-mod result from partials 1 and 2. And the ring-mod result is at a much lower level, so it's usually drowned out by the unmodulated partial 1 output. There doesn't seem to be any way to control the mixing between the two. Lowering the level of partial 1 reduces the level of both partial 1 and the modulation result without changing the mix; lowering the level of partial 2 reduces the level of the modulation result, but raising partial 2 to maximum still leaves the modulation result faint in comparison to partial 1.

Am I doing this wrong? Is there any simple way to have the modulation result be the only output, or at least, be significant in comparison to the raw partial 1 output? What parameters can I set to control this?
