gee...Stein
you are a walking work that contains information on all branches of knowledge or treats comprehensively a particular branch of knowledge usually in articles arranged alphabetically often by subject (aka encyclopedia )
Do not tell me that you own all of them because I will not believe you _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Nope.. I do not own all of these... but I know these titles fairly well. i have a lot... a huge lot.. of books on music. A lot of these are scandinavian titles .. and rare xerox copies etc etc.. You remember the Solomon papers?? I suggest our friend IRAD checks out the various threads here and collect some of the more obscure links there.
I suggest IRAD also checks out the first book by Peter Michael Hamel.
And... I have another booklist somewhere... which is kinda pretty deep and dense... but where is it?? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

you missed only a book I consider a great one:
synthesizer performance and real-time techniques
by the late Jeff Pressing (check the threads with the "search" option to learn more about him).
I do not know if it is out of print, though. _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

There are so many great books on modern music. i suggest Irad tells us a bit about where to start... It is much easier to follow on on certain subjects and take it from there. BTW: Most decent university bookstores has great sections on music. Perhaps Howard, Jeff Harrington of jack Tamul can suggest some interesting titles too?
I once saw three xerox copies of some extremely interesting papers on the keyboard technique of Joe Zawinul. I have tried to find those for years. Any suggestions? In my opinion, that Zawinul dude is pretty good. I have heard him live many times. I do not always agree with the band.. but Zawinul always delivers. I know... Zawinul plays kinda fusion jazz and this is supposed to be dead and buried.. but I think he is good anyway. And his keynoard skills are awesome. Hmm... thus thread is supposed to be about "new" music.. sorry.. no more Zawinul... I promise.. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

That one is GOOD! I know that one!
And there are a lot of nice titles about CSOUND and stuff like that if Irad wanna go CSOUND.
When it comes to music philosophy and analysis.. I hope we can take those subjects somewhere ... some day.. later... we can do that eh?
I guess one of the vital issues here might be about the purpose of music.. the music we make.. the visions.. what we do, what we have done.. and why.. Do we explore visions and theoretical frameworks when we make music?
Stay with us, CYX! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Huge yes, probably several orders of magnatude beyond most others simply due to accessability and the age we are in right now, and it really hasn't even happened yet, if you know what I mean,

You propose the idea that theoretical frameworks that handle what we do now, is a thing of the future? And that the major bulk of literature, both practical and acedemic, is yet unpublished? Yeah, you might be right. That idea has some interesting implications. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I do not know who George Zawinul is, but I know Joe Zawinul. I actually met him in 1990. For one week I was his Italian translator at the Berklee Seminars at Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. He is another guy from Austria who made it big in the USA (like the new governor of California. Zawinul too is based in California). I was allowed to see his band perform for six consecutive days. the outcome was very different from one day to the other: one day it was fantastic, the following was so and so.
I remember his stories, like the one regarding the fact that his first electric piano was given to him by Ray Charles, or a very young Jaco Pastorious presenting himself to him as "the best bass player in the world" (the funny thing is that he was right!), or the fact that while Wayne Shorter (the sax player of Weather Report) used yoga to relax, Joe drank "grappa" to achieve the same results
A nice hot-bloodied guy _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Is it intended for anal-retentive synthesists? To open up the flow of ideas? _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

It is a Korg product... so I guess you are pretty much correct about the inner workings of the product. I saw Turnkey has announced shipments of the "family pack" in time for XMAS. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
