I think you may be mixing up your fruit photos, but the mixing of your fruit sounds is really nice! I like it a lot! Thanks for sharing.

P.S. I feel a little sheepish mentioning this, since I don't want to take focus away from this great music, but the high-pitched drone at the beginning of Part I reminds me a bit of an old drone piece I did using VFD's... it can be listened to for free here: http://squint.press/00v_james-schidlowsky_ringen/ . |

Vacuum Fluorescent Displays. One can feed sound through them, and pick up the vibrations of the filaments. It sounds a bit like ring modulation, and pretty high-pitched. I got the idea from The Electronic Peasant ( http://www.electronicpeasant.com/projects/ringmod/trmod.html ).

My piece is based on an improvisation I did using 4 of them, then I took the recording and made 3 copies, each slowed down (affecting pitch) to different speeds. As the piece progresses, I mixed in one of the slowed copies until at its peak, all 4 copies/octaves are heard.

Thanks,

thanks for listening and commenting james, much appreciated

Ringen was a nice listen and now the videotapes and display photos make more sense too. (I still have a lot of old videotapes myself.

not sure what to do with them,. I thought about putting NANDulators in it for a bit but after opening one up I discovered that there is

less space in there than expected because of all the reinforcements that keep the tape from falling apart) _________________ "My perf, it's full of holes!"
