Hi All,

I'm looking for a nice voltage controlled decay/release schematic for a percussive synth that i've been thinking lately.
No need for attack, since it's for a drum synth.

Anyone knows of a good schematics for this?

Best,
Ruben

Take the most simple VCADSR you can find and put the A/S inputs to fix voltages. The R or D input gets your control voltage. Job done. Wink
I would probably go for this one:

The four VC envelopes i have are the Serge VCADSR, VCS and DUSG and the Buchla VC ASD... but all rather complex and most likely Overkill for your needs…

Edit: forgot the Serge 1973 Envelope Generator AR style, but this has as the DUSG no separate CV for each stage

Find attached an idea for a linear Decay or Sustain Release VC Envelope.

oh a nice one, and once you have a linear one with time control .. feedback from the output to the time control inputs will give you an exp curve, and hey .. you have an inverted out too .. for log curves :-)

what?
i didnt know that at all!
thats crazy, is there a name for that kind of feedbag(ck)?

in the simu it works a little bit, but i get not that what iam used to from cap discharging curves, but it worth investigating.

what a perfect surprising evening!

Obrigado meus amigos,
Thx my friends,
surprise

I have no name for it - invent one :)

You may have to fiddle a bit with DC levels maybe?

here is an idea for a AD / ASR
incl. the 2TIMES-LIN-IS-EXPO-mod, which works - the release rollout is not exacly like from a cap discharge - but its only a simulation
i included a fastness pot cos i guess it could be usefull if not nessesary to get fast attacks

so far,
gabbagabi

wow so many good replies!

Thanks g.gabba for your effort! that looks very cool!
meanwhile i started to play with this simple schematic that i found on this topic:
http://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-35747-0.html&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

Followed blue hell's advice on that topic. At first try it works really crappy but after some improvements on the voltage control of the transistor i'm happy with the results.
when i have time i'll post the schematics with the improvements

Best,
Ruben
