I saw that Alan had an output jack for headphones on one of his soundlabs. I wonder if it is easy to make? Is it just like the main output but with a stereo jack instead? Confused

welcome Pehr

You will need some sort of headphone amplifier. Here is a link which may provide you with some background. There are many circuits on the web if you google around.

OK, Mr, Zebra. That one is much better. Buffered input and runs on a single supply voltage. thumb up

I've built a simple headphone amp for my SL using the design in the link below. The other designs listed may be better alternatives, you decide. Instead of the 250k pot, input is connected to the SL main volume pot. The resistors before output could be way higher, as 100 ohm gives way too much power. I'm using 220 ohm, I'd recommend somewhere in the range of 1k-10k to protect your headphones should you accidentaly turn the volume up.

0k, I've built both the ruby and the one from headwize now and I have to say that the one from headwize is really good! Very Happy I've built a stereo one for my mp3-player and finally I can hear the bass! Wink

The ruby, is 0k. A little noisy but 0k Smile

Yeh, I'd have to say the ruby is designed more for amplifying a guitar or other instrument and less like a "power amp" or whatever you wanna call it. The ruby I mabe gets used mostly for sittin around playing guitar of the SL on a trip. The gain is pretty nice if'n you like that sort of thing.
I'll have to try the headwise amp. Thanks for the update.
