Hello all Andromedists!

I heard about this place from A6 mailing list and decided to take a peek.
I took a peek and decided to register.
I registered and decided to introduce myself.
And here I am, introducing myself. Rolling Eyes

28yrs old, been making music on and off for 8 years using software (Reason mostly). Now it was time to go hardware all the way. My 'studio' consists of:

A6
Electribe ER-1
Yamaha DX-200

software used: Logic Audio 5.5 for PC.

I bought my A6 a month ago and been having such great time with this beast. There's pros and cons in this machine but I love it. (I _have_ to, I paid so much for this lol)

So, I know you're all thinking 'ASK ALREADY N00B!' haha. And here we go then:

What program do you use for sending patches via sysex to the A6?

Ok that's about it for now. Thanks all.

any programme with sufficient MIDI capabilities can send sysex data to a synth...such as logic

wow!! my first valid contribution...I've just been investigating this myself...

Well there are a couple of approaches to this. You can either use Cubase/Logic or use a standalone midi utility (my brother uses midi-ox).

I use Cubase for sequencing and have just discovered how to do this....its a bit of a long way round but works. You create a midi track and then using the list editor, select the pencil tool and draw in a sysex event. Then by clicking on the comment field you get to see the raw sysex data and there is a button called "import" where you can browse to your desired .syx file. Then press play and the info is sent to the andromeda (make sure the screen on the a6 says "receiving sysex").

With a utility like midi-ox.....its a lot simpler as far as i remember and it has a myriad of other uses including realtime midi monitoring and librarian functions.

Hope this helps
