uses granular synthesis and spectral morphing . Particularily liked airquake (very odd indeed) and the de bells of nafin (kinda nice and laid back)
There is new site now :

good tracks. Altiplano is excellent - covers a lot of his ideology very asthetically. great abstract soundscape.
i found his approach interesting - although i noticed he has changed his Artist Description which previously mentioned the creation of new tonal scales and - if i remember correctly - something about the planet's orbital frequency.
thx for pointing him out _________________ Que la musique sonne - Edgard Varese

If you think there is a need for more discussion on ambient experimental music, then we are up for it here. _________________ --Howard

I have talked with many friends on-line in our country on this question for many times
I can only say, all is under development and we called it "seedtime"....
I know that a couple of young people running some underground labels in the North of China. But situation for them are not easy at all, i means "money" was a big problem... Dj set... Midi Equipment... Laptop. Part of those will spend almost all of their saving... They earned money through Live performance in Disco/club/bar rather than selling their records...For that reasons, most of their products are dancing music, cause you cant expect they can have chance to perform 60 minutes' ambient experiemtal live sets in a club. Young people want to move their body and share the orgiastic beats with girls always...
They even could not imagine a valuable synthesizer for touching on hands. Of course, some people have them, but they usually were used for pop music or other music/sound projects.....
However, I thinks all will become better in the future... I do expect all of you will come to visit our coutry to show your talent on electro-scene...

Love to (;
ahhh the evil money problem. I know we take such equipment almost for granted in the uk but its not so easy to get in other places. so I guess electronic music is the plaything of the rich in china ? But computer just keep getting cheaper
I would like to hear more electronic stuff from east Asia, freshen things up a bit.
So you think china will change ? Is the government oppressive in china ? Or is this just western propoganda ? |

Great stuff.
I love the humor of Airquake. And I liked the atmosphere of 'Altiplano' and 'The emperor is wearing no clothes' .
I'm using a lot of granular techniques myself these days. You can create very rich sounds with it. |
