Hi, I am wondering if you guys think it would be possible to model the Filterbank in the new Radikal Technologies Spectralis. Also, if there are any discussions or existing patches that might help me to construct something like it that would be cool. Here is a link to radikal's explaination of the filterbank http://www.spectralis.de/english/Guided_TourE/FilterbankE/filterbanke.html

It's like 10 fixed filters with no cutof control, but each spans a certain frequency range and is fixed at allowing that bandwidth through... then there is amplitude control for each filter so you can allow a very specific band of frequencies to pass... it sounds very cool, here is a quick audio demo, one not processed and one processed.

I've realized after scouring this forum a little that there is a LOT of material on filters written or linked to here. So I'm trying to understand and figure out if this is possible, but it's a lot to take in (not that I won't have to learn it eventually anyhow being an engineering student).

Here is one based on Rob's description of how to do it.

The 8 controls on the right set levels, if you set alternate bands to negative gain, the results are interesting.
Lots to experiment with, maybe modulate the filter frequencies or try different slopes etc.

This is so totally great... I've got a very cool sequence running through it as I type Smile I'm trying to figure how to impliment resonance.

Here it is with resonance and per filter pan control. The resonance control is on page E3... be warned to use responsible resonance levels as this will begin to self oscillate and hurt your ears. I have attempted to give the res factor a reasonable limit but still allow people to use their own discration.

Thanks a bunch to Ian for the original, which I was quite impressed how he busted it out. I don't really understand it full actually, but was able to get it enough to impliment these few extra functions.
